John Ditchfield art glass collaboration.

With my background in stained glass, glass of any description interests me - my surname being Appleby we began collecting glass apples.

The world famous master glass blower John Ditchfield makes many beautiful items and Apple paperweights are on that list - so in due course we started to collect these fantastic pieces.

A sad event led to the commission of a tiny Ditchfield apple … no colour - no pattern - something pure.

The way in which this affected us as a family has only recently been fully realised - it shaped the way forward, one thing led to another and I started making jewellery pieces incorporating beautiful handmade Ditchfield art glass, each piece is totally unique - it is an absolute privilege to be part of this collaboration with one of the greatest glass blowers of our time.

There are currently 8 permanent shapes in this collection - I initially design and hand make a master from which the castings are cast as needed, then hand finished and set. There are also special one-off handmade pieces containing Ditchfield art glass that cross over in to the other collections.

No more needs to be said - the art glass speaks for itself.
